Response to All Summer in a Day
Since this story lines up with the plot line of Irony like how the world is in conflict and that they get no sun. Then the major conflict is when she gets locked in the closet. Then death or death of sanity is when she misses the 2 hours of sun that they get every seven years. Also in the story evil is strong and good is weak. Like when William in the story shoved her in the closet he was very evil and very powerful. And Margot was weak and she was just happy that the sun was coming out.
In this story Margot is very dumb she never even defends herself. If she did she would have been outside with the sun. Since she didn’t she got put in the closet by William. That is another reason why it is an Irony. This story is perfect to examine our fears if we didn’t have these kinds of stories we would feel our life stinks and we should improve it. When you read this story you feel good about your life and say I wouldn’t like to be Margot. These are all the reasons why I think this is an Irony.
So this is why All Summer in a Day is an Irony. It is very unrealistic and a very bad nightmare vision. It follows the Irony plotline its purpose is helping examine your fears which fits the Irony purpose. So this is why this story is an Irony.
