Have you ever met a guy who scares you by his evil look his scary posture and his mean ways? You know that guy, who never talks to anyone has his head down and gives you the cold shivers when you look at him? Well the narrator of The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe is a very scary character. He seems super nice but he really isn't. He killed a innocent person for his evil eye which makes no sense. He is clearly insane by his actions to the old man that he killed.
Next I will show you how insane he really is. He constantly insisted that he is not insane; I think that he does this just to prove to himself that he is sane. Next it takes him one whole hour to get through a single doorway. If you ask me it takes me two seconds to go through a doorway. Also he says that the
wall watches him in death. Which really doesn't make sense how can a wall watch you. He constantly repeats himself so many times it's hard to count.
Although knowing how to prove a persons insanity is important, showing how he is insane has an even greater importance. When the police come to check out where the scream came from the narrator invites them in at the middle of the night. Then when he offers them food and drink he sits them down right above where he cut up the body. He is clearly insane for doing this because this is not a mistake. Then he becomes guilty for his actions. Some sort of noise blasts into his ears and guilt sank in and he confessed to the police. He was insane for killing a man he worked with and liked, he did this all just for his evil eye.
The narrator was so proud of himself by killing the old man he talks to the police right over his dead body. If you ask me, that's no accident. This shows that he is definitely crazy and always will be.Unfortunately, this character does not exist only in fiction. We see these stories everyday but not in this type of extreme.... or so we think.
