Will the Pearl destroy the Family?

Juana believes that the pearl will destroy them and they will never be the same. Kino thinks he will bring wealth and fame to the family. Juana is under a lot of stress and should not worry about as much so she can concentrate more on the baby. Kino should probably put the pearl in the bank and get cash for it.Then he can support his family and get a better life for his family. This is what I think of chapter 3 and if the pearl will destroy their family.
